Preliminary Round

The five nations participating in the B-Group European Championship 2009 are divided into two pools. In the preliminary round, which will be played from the 15th till 20th of August, each team in pool 2 has to play the group opponents once. Due to the withdraw of Team Russia the tournament’s schedule had to be slightly changed. Denmark and the Czech Republic will now face each other twice in the preliminary round.

Final Day

Due to the withdraw of Team Russia the tournament’s schedule had to be slightly changed: The game for the fifth place had to be cancelled. On the final day, which will played on the 22nd of August in Wolfsberg, the two teams ending up in the second places of each pool will play in the bronze medal game and  the two teams ending up in the first places will play for the gold medal. The winning nation will be qualified to compete in the A-Group European Championship 2010, which will be held in Germany.
