Hosting Federation - AFBÖ
The EFAF Board of Directors has awarded the Austrian American Football Federation AFBÖ to host and organize the B-Group European Championships 2009. The European Federation has decided in favour of Austria as being host to the next B-Group European Championship due to the fact that its Federation is well known for a great mobilization of fans, media and investors.
The Austrian Federation of American Football was founded in 1982. It is a member of the European Federation of American Football and the International Federation of American Football. Austrian club teams have been very succesful throughout the years, they have won five Eurobowls in a row. Austria's Federation organized the C-Group Championship two years ago, which was also held in Wolfsberg.

Der American Football Bund Österreich wurde vom europäischen Dachverband EFAF mit der Ausrichtung des B-Group European Championship 2009 betraut.
Der American Football Bund Österreich wurde 1982 gegründet, er ist Mitglied der österreichischen Bundessportorganisation BSO, der Nationalen Anti-Doping-Agentur NADA, des europäischen Verbandes EFAF und des Weltverbandes IFAF. Der Sitz ist in Klosterneuburg. Amtierender Präsident ist Michael Eschlböck. Der American Football Bund Österreich hat bereits die C-Europameisterschaft 2007, ebenfalls in Wolfsberg in Kärnten, organisiert.
